Miss Yung Mei Ling's temper is no match for machismo

[Interview with Yawng Neiwen]

The "Pretty Hibiscus" has become the little sister of TVB, and her fan base is unparalleled by any other actress. Although TVB has made the chubby Yung Mei Ling look skin and bones, she has made a lot of money, and the six months of hard work she has put in for fame and fortune is still worth it.

When she mentioned her recent appearance in Kuala Lumpur, she couldn't help but smile and be pleased with herself. Her seven appearances with Miu Kiu Wai were no less popular than Chow Yun Fat and Cheng Yu Ling.

"Did you get a lot of gifts?"

"I got a lot of gifts, I got a lot of gold rings, but I got mostly dolls."

When she returned to Hong Kong, she brought back all the dolls, but her luggage was overweight and she had to pay $800 before she could take them out of Hong Kong. When she went out on stage, she had to handle the contracts herself and swallowed all the hard knocks with a gulp.

"Everything has to be paid for. I don't blame people, I just look at myself."

Because of her willingness to help people, her colleagues have been very kind to her, and Miao Qiaowei took care of her during her debut. If it wasn't for him, she would have been a "blind girl" back in Hong Kong.

"I always wear contact lenses, but I was very careless. When I sang on stage, I burst into tears and my contact lenses came out. Miao Qiaowei did it for me twice and I did it once, but now that I think about it, I felt a bit ridiculous."

In the few days since he arrived in Kuala Lumpur, he has made countless phone calls to his girlfriend Chi Mei Zhen, which cost him a lot of money.

"Did Kent call you?" I asked.

"Yes, but not as much as Ah Miao called Chi. We've gone from a hot relationship to a quiet one, so there's less impulsiveness."

I remember that on the day of her departure, Kent Tong came to the airport to see her off, and she was so angry that she cried over a minor issue. I said, "It's not right for you to argue like this."

"I didn't blame him, I just cried because I felt so emotional. I'm very impulsive, but when things change, I forget quickly what has happened."

He is a bit of a macho man, he is kind to people but stubborn when he has to insist. Barbara is a real bitch, but when she loses her temper, it's a big deal. She is probably the only daughter in her family. She is an independent girl, but she is also a lady from time to time.

"I'm also very accommodating to Kent," Barbara explained.

"Everyone says your relationship has changed, is that true?"

"How many times have I told you, we're fine, we're just having fun, there's nothing wrong with us."

When the reporter visited Yung Mei Ling's home, he would accompany her if she was not filming. He was waiting outside with a pair of nail clippers, and was envied for his unpretentiousness and lack of decorum. Many people thought that Kent and Barbara were living together, but now it has become clear that they are not, even though they live together on the same floor.

"Living together? I wish I still had the time, we haven't stopped shooting dramas for the last six months. We can't even sleep, let alone talk about marriage."

She says she won't be getting married for three years, which is a good time to test the relationship and to take her career to the next level.
"You are not angry with Kent and won't agree to marry him," I joked.

"I wouldn't be so stingy, but something happened recently that really struck a chord with me."

She wasn't afraid to say that it was because of a few of his more daring and revealing films that she had to think twice about getting married.

"I don't know how I feel about it. I'm an actor too, so I should understand that Kent was doing what the director wanted him to do. I'm not afraid that Tom will change his mind, I'm just afraid that I'll get caught up in this kind of emotion."

And to think Yung Mei Ling's mother lives in England. If she were to marry, I believe she would have to go back to the UK and live there for a long time.

"I didn't want to get anything, but when I came back to Hong Kong, I participated in the Miss Hong Kong election for fun. I never thought I would become an artiste because of this opportunity. It seemed so easy to get everything, but it was a bit of a tear."

The weight she loses day by day is a great burden on her mind. Her greatest consolation was that she had met Kent, but unfortunately he was angry with her again, otherwise they would have announced their marriage.

Although Yung Mei Ling is a bit annoyed with Kent, she still sees him as the man of her life.

"I'm worth a lot of money! Whoever marries me will be able to live with me in England. If he's not good to me, how can he be?" Barbara joked.

"He doesn't necessarily want to live in England?" I asked, unconvinced.

"But if I go back, and he loves me, and for the sake of his future, he will consider it."

"Once she is married", Yung Mei Ling says, "I will not be attached to a moment of fame or fortune, for after all, the only thing that matters to a woman is finding a good home."

"He 've already promised not to do any more sex scenes. You're still not sure?"

"I once said to Kent, "If you do everything for a few bucks, I'm afraid it won't turn out as well as you think. I just don't know if he'll listen to me."

"Yes, he will. He's so good to you, he will listen to you," I said.

"Apart from that, I really don't want to get married this year."

"He's already so good, but you still don't want to be a bride, don't you think you'll make Kent feel stupid?"

"We've agreed to make as much money as we can in the next few years, and only when we have a solid financial foundation can we think about starting a family."
