As a woman who also moved from China to Europe, I was very drawn to these stories and to her, even though I have never watched any Barbara's performance and interviews. After coming to Europe, I experienced struggles she probably also experienced a few decades ago. During this time, I learned about feminism and met many Chinese females living in Europe who shared similar experiences. I Am Woman is a very important song for us so it was surprised to learn that Barbara also liked this song. Apparently, the struggles we face, the feelings we carry and the courage we share can transcend time and space.
Hi Rob, how are you today? "The Helen Reddy Collection" was only released in 1998. I believe the tape that you noted Barbara was listening to would very likely be "Helen Reddy's Greatest Hits", which was released in 1975. Can you try to recollect?
I think you did brilliantly this website for Barbara's fans. Do continue to maintain it. I can see Barbara's nodding in approval. : )
