秦煌在香港影視圈已經打滾44年，由佳藝到麗的再去到無綫，在無綫打工期間，亦經歷過六叔、六嬸、殼王時代，當然知道不少秘密，他亦坦言現在跟以前已經變了很多！說起當年的無綫，秦煌叔合作過不少藝人，但相信翁美玲會令佢最深刻，因為某日拍劇途中突然收到她的死訊，原來早兩日，秦煌叔先見到翁美玲隱藏在後樓梯內抽泣。
冇人當我係茄喱啡
秦煌28歲入行，在影視圈已經44個年頭，歷盡一切高低起低，由最初的佳視再到麗的，然後加入無綫，靠「周伯通」和「肥舅父」成功突圍，雖然在無綫不算大紅大紫，但總有一席位。「TVB對我嚟講係一個小宇宙、家庭，其實我一入閘，我喺TVB識嘅全部人，佢地都唔會當我係茄喱啡，個個都熟，除非TVB唔要我，就算TVB撈得少都唔緊要，出面都有人關照我，尤其而家國內咁蓬勃。」他道盡了不少人甘草綠葉的心聲，TVB給他們的，或者不只是金錢，而是一種人情味。

六嬸年代連廁紙都慳
提起以前的無綫，秦煌叔直言它是比較「節儉」，而且現在比以往亦已經轉變了很多，他說：「全部都唔同，六叔好節儉，咁好多人都有啲微言嘅，尤其是六嬸嗰陣時。曾經試過夜晚12點鐘後有啲?會閂咗，喂大佬我行上3樓宵夜喎，我行上去落返嚟都唔使宵夜喇，廁所廁紙唔準用多過幾多格，曾經試過。係咪呢樣可以慳到好多錢呢？當年佢又唔會蝕本嘅，而家唔同世界喇。而家係做生意，我覺得而家TVB都好進取，我哋公司有幾多個台呀？五個台！你畀啲節目供應呢五個台都好大鑊，不停廿四小時，而家仲賣埋牛扒添！」
電視台需要人情味
現在感覺無綫就是一種做生意的方式運營，人情味褪色不少，在商業與文化當中確實需要取捨，順得哥情失嫂意，當你要進步的時候，或是就回不到過去的情懷，秦煌叔也承認自己已經比較少返TVB廠：「其實電視台係一個文化，你唔可以單係以生意經營，咁你做生意都要照顧文化，我都好少返嚟。而家拍廠開工，放食飯炸一聲就散晒，上餐廳冇個識，冇人陪，以前唔係，一早約定今晚食飯，你準備定一圍寫定，十幾人上去食，而家唔係冇，係比較少。」

曾看見翁美玲後樓梯抽泣
秦煌在無綫打滾多年，與不少藝人合作過，不過相信最令秦煌叔印象深刻，一定是「最美黃蓉」翁美玲。1985年5月14日，翁美玲被發現在寓所內開煤氣自殺，送院搶救後不治，終年26歲。其實秦煌叔在她出事前的兩日，曾經見到她在後樓梯抽泣，「我唔記得咩戲，後尾換咗張曼玉。後生女都係感情嘢，我哋唔可以介入，知道咪算，冇諗到咁大鑊。」秦煌叔表示自己平時跟翁美玲基本上任何事都會傾，甚至會鬧她：「有一次喺雲頂，登台定乜鬼嘢，佢上嚟探我，我就喺雲頂鬧佢。有一套佢做差人，做得唔好，我就話佢聽點樣唔好，佢受教。」
紅極一時的女星翁美玲，在1985年當紅時突然自殺身亡，終年26歲。葬禮在九龍世界殯儀館舉行，當時男友湯鎮業在友人的攙扶下，神色黯然地將一朵玫瑰花輕輕別在翁美玲的髮髻，將拿著的一把梳子一分為二，髮前一段隨著翁美玲的芳魂下葬，另一端保留，此為中年喪妻的祭奠風俗。靈柩由好友劉德華、梁朝偉等人扶靈。（網上圖片）
有一次拍《薛剛反唐》的時候，突然有臨時演員在片場大叫「翁美玲死咗」，當時秦煌以為只是笑話一則，但知道是事實後，他坦言也不太傷心：「每一個人階段都唔同，你要咁都冇辦法。尤其是呢一兩年好多老友走先，走咗好多個，最近有Benny（陳木勝），都麻木咗感覺。」
