The following article by Kent Tong appeared in the "Hong Kong Video News" magazine,1985 June issue#17.
Judging from the very last sentence, "...this is the past, present, but may not be the future Yung Mei Ling.", the article was written before Yung had committed suicide.
The Yung Mei Ling that I know - By Kent Tong
She can't socialise and never do things she hate or unwilling to do.
She don't like crowds and like to go places where no one visit so she would feel free and play to her heart's content.
She never like debate or arguing but put all opinions deep in her heart.
When she is happy, she would like to share her feeling. But this is rare or none.
When she is hurt inside, she would hide and cry.
She don't like to make friends but she always treat you nice.
She like climbing but have never completed the trip to the top.
She like planting flowers but don't know how to nurture them.
If you tease her, she can bite back.
When sad, her downward mood swing can be instantanous.
With a novel in hand, she can forgo hunger or sleeping. However, she fell asleep when she sees a textbook.
She is a keen listener, seldom talks.
Pointing out her weakness, she would strive to correct it.
She loves eating snacks, but don't like to buy them.
She always tease others, but don't like others to tease her.
If you helped her, she would return the favour in double.
When she sees a baby, she would love to give the baby a hug.
She loves to swim but is afraid of water.
She loves the sound of windchime and sounds of nature.
Collecting is her hobby.
Love playing Mahjong for the thrill it brings.
She loves anything that is elegent.
She loves operas and music.
In dull weather, she would like driving around in her car.
She would stick a leaf in a book and keep it for years.
This is the past, present but may not be the future Yung Mei Ling.

她不善于社交，只要不喜欢的事，她从不愿意做。
她不善于应酬，她喜欢躲在没人去的地方，这样就可以大肆玩耍。她不爱辩论，却把满肚子的意见存在心里。

她喜欢听人讲话，却不太喜欢开口。指出她的缺点，她会力求改正。
她喜欢吃零食，却不喜欢去买。
她常吓人，却不要别人吓她。
帮忙她，她会加倍还你。
看到孩子，她会高兴的想抱一抱。
她爱游泳，但却怕水。
她喜欢风铃，听取自然的回声。
集藏，是她所好。爱搓麻将。找寻刺激。
只要是美，她都喜欢。
她爱戏剧。也爱音乐。
阴天，她爱骑车兜风。
摘片叶子在书里，可以珍藏一个岁月。
这就是过去，现在的，但不完全是未来的翁美玲
