Not bratty, just a little bit of a spoiled brat sometimes
[Interview with Yvonne]
Before Yung Meiling played Huang Rong, many people had doubts about her and thought she would not be able to do the job. But ever since she played the role of Wong Yung, she has been a "brutal" actress, and her mischievousness seems to be a part of her.
"Do you think you only have one expression in your acting?" I asked her.
"You're telling me that in that TV show, you only need one expression?" She asked in return, "But I know what you mean, I mean that the characters I play they're all the same type of character. But that's something I can't control. I try my best to play whatever role the company assigns me. What can I do?" She had a look of helplessness. "But it's all right, I'm playing the old lady in my next serie". Now she's all smug again.
"The woman I am playing is a modern, bold woman, not a brutal, ancient chivalrous woman."
"Are you sure you can do it?"
"It's hard to say, but it's not enough for me to be satisfied."
It's hard to imagine how she will be able to play the role of the police woman with her small, slender figure. She, herself, though confident, prefers to play costumes. It's because, "I'm small and dainty, so I look better in costume. I've done a lot of costumes, so I've fallen in love with them."
Perhaps another reason is that her costume roles are all mischievous and lively. She has a personality similar to her own.
"Yes, I'm usually cheeky, I jump around and can't keep still. I can't play Huang Rong or Sang Xiaojing with ease." She laughs... "I'm just very energetic, I'm not brutal. I'm not bratty. Sometimes I'll be a bit of a spoiled brat, but not too much."
She and Kent Tong seem to be a bitter rivalry, with news of them ignoring each other soon after...
"There are couples who don't get into trouble, we're artistes, we're just a little bit more visible," she said repeatedly.

不刁蠻只是有時撒撒嬌

翁美玲未演黃蓉以前，不少人都對她有所懷疑，認為她難以勝任。但自從演活了黃蓉以後，翁美玲卻就擺脫不了「刁蠻」型像，調皮任性似乎與她結下不解緣。
「你覺得自己做戲是否只有一個表情？」我問她。
「你告訴我那一套電視劇的角色，只需要一個表情？」
她反問：「不過我知道你的意思，是指我扮演的角色
都是同一類型，性格相差不遠。但，這是我無法控制
的啊，公司派什麼角色，我便盡力去演，而公司多數
派同一類角色給我，有甚麼辦法呢？」
她一副無可奈何的表情。
「不過，還好，我下一部戲扮演差婆。」
一下子，她又變得得意洋洋了。
差婆和桑小靜是截然不同的角色，差婆是現代豪放型，與刁蠻的古代俠女就是兩回事了。
「有沒有把握演得好？」
「這個很難說，自已滿意是不足夠，要觀眾受落，
讚賞才算成功。」
觀翁美玲的嬌小玲瓏身材，確難以想像她扮演差婆怎樣發揮阻嚇力。她自己嘛，雖然信心十足，都比較喜歡演古裝戲。
因為：「自己細細粒粒，穿起古裝會好一點。
而且，我演得古裝戲多了，自然會愛上了。」
或者另一原因是因為她演的古裝角色都是調皮活潑，
和她本身的性格相接近。
「是啊，我平時嘻嘻哈哈，跳眺紮，靜不下來，
演起黃蓉、桑小靜就駕輕就熟。」她笑著...
突然嚴肅地補充：「我只是活力過人，並不刁蠻。
有時侯當然會撒撒嬌，但不會過份。」
她和阿湯仿似對鬥氣冤家，久不久便有互不瞅睬的新聞...
「有那對情侶不鬧彆扭，我們是藝員，特別教人注目而已。」她重覆這樣說。
