Weng Meiling's longing in Hong Kong

(Interview with Yawng Neiwen)

When Kent Tong comes back from Taiwan to shoot a movie, Weng Meiling suffers from lovesickness! The first time he went to Taiwan to shoot a movie, she worried that he could not take care of himself in Taiwan.

"He called me every other day. He said that filming is very hard and he sleeps after filming, so he doesn't have time to be lonely." she said, smiling sweetly.

While her love is still sweet, she has already started to review last year's successes and failures.

"I don't think I did very well in my work in 1984, I still don't speak fluently and my role since in The Legend of the Bat hasn't changed much."

In fact, what worries Weng Meiling the most is that she will become a costume person and will never be able to make a comeback.
"I've been acting in costumes since "Thirteen Sisters", like "Battle of Xuan Wu Men" and "The Master's Seat", and I don't even know what the real world looks like anymore," she says reluctantly. "My first modern serie, Sandwich Man, was not well received. The challenge is the second serie, I play a police woman but I'm too small and my look is not convincing."

Last year, she signed a five-year contract with TVB. She is worried that she will no longer be able to work in the industry after her contract expires.

"I entered the Miss Hong Kong pageant when I was 22, and I'm 26 this year, so I'll be 30 at the end of my four-year contract."

Although she is the lead actress in "The Challenge", she does not appear too often and her role is not too heavy, so she has plenty of time to do her other work.

She says. "Alas, it's good to do what I ams doing now, I can't think that far ahead. I've seen Tony Leung shooting day and night, on and off location, and he's still working on the video at home, so I've got to work on myself while I'm free."

Since her return to Hong Kong from the UK, her star has been running smoothly and her house on Broadcast Drive has become more and more beautiful. "Don't you get scared living alone in such a big house?

"No, not really. It's just that I have a lot of cats and dogs at home in England and I would like to have a dog to keep me company but I'm afraid I won't have anyone to look after it. It doesn't matter if I'm hungry, I'd feel bad if my animals were hungry."

People who love small animals are very loving people, and if you look at Weng Meiling, she always plays the role of a brutal and capricious person, but in fact, she is very gentle and loving.
