At the 17th of October 1984 Yung Meiling joined in with other artists (Zhou Runhua, Liu Dehua, Huang Rihua, He Shouxin, Lu Liangwei, Wang Mingqi, Zheng Yuling, Maggie Cheung, Shang Tianyi) to play in a folk music ensemble playing Taiwanese songs at the Clearwater bay TV-studios. the conductor was the composer Gu Jiahui. All the stars were dressed up in cheongsam costumes.
